Environmental Testing & Sustainability

EU REACH
EU REACH is a rule designed to bolster human well-being and ecological protection by controlling chemical hazards. It mandates that manufacturers and importers provide safety information for all chemicals produced or brought into the EU in substantial amounts. Highly concerning substances may face additional permissions or limitations to mitigate their effects.

Chemical Tests
A chemical test is a method used to identify the presence, quantity, or type of chemical in a sample. This can range from simple tests, like using litmus paper to determine acidity or basicity, to complex ones involving specific reactions or advanced instruments. The complexity of the test depends on the information sought and the situation’s requirements.

Sustainability
Sustainability is about balancing economic growth, environmental protection, and social equality to meet current needs without harming future generations. It involves responsible use of resources to maintain biodiversity and ecological balance. It’s becoming increasingly essential due to the finite nature of Earth’s resources and the growing human population.

California Prop 65
California Proposition 65, also known as the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, safeguards Californians and their drinking water from harmful chemicals. The law necessitates businesses to issue warnings before deliberately exposing people to any chemicals known to cause cancer or reproductive harm. Over 800 such chemicals are listed and regularly updated by the California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment.
